Collaboration among FAS units and campus partners improves tuition billing and payment processes for students

New tuition billing process for UT

Starting with the fall 2021 semester, the university will implement improvements to tuition billing and payments that will make it easier for students to pay their tuition and to receive financial aid and scholarships. These process improvements are the result of collaboration that began in November 2019 with the support of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Darrell Bazzell and then-provost Maurie McInnis.

Texas Swim Center worked behind the scenes to support Texas Athletics champions

On March 27, Texas Athletics Men’s Swimming and Diving team won the 2021 NCAA championship under retiring Swimming and Diving Head Coach Eddie Reese, marking another conference title spanning his 40-year career in that role. The Women’s Swimming and Diving team shone as well, winning third place in the championship meet. A regimen of practice led up to those wins, several months of which took place at the Texas Swim Center (TSC).

Business and Financial Services (BFS) makes navigating the process of procurement much easier on its FAS clients by bringing the FAS core values of service, stewardship, teamwork and integrity to the procurement process.

Landscape Services helps trees weather the winter storm

Many members of the UT Austin community experienced freeze damage to their trees during the February winter storm. Campus trees were no exception. University staff from the Landscape Services division responded to the storm and continue to assess damage and tree health. They are hopeful that most trees on campus will weather the storm impacts just fine, and they offer guidance to homeowners for caring for their own trees.

Reuse Store offers sustainable and fun shopping experience

Where can shoppers purchase inexpensive home or apartment-size furnishings, electronics, art and books originating from the university? What about low-cost UT-branded apparel and memorabilia? All of these items and more are available at the UT Surplus REuse Store. Launched in 2018, the REuse Store was first proposed by Ben Reid, manager of Building Logistics and Keys, in 2015. Besides providing value to customers, the UT Surplus REuse Store is also a creative way to reduce waste as part of the university’s Zero Waste Program.

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) recently announced the winners of the university’s first SWPPPerstar Awards. In the SWPPPerstar Awards program, honors are given twice annually to construction sites or individual staff members who exemplify superior stormwater management in accordance with the Stormwater Program 2019 for UT Austin.
