Teamwork among FAS departments and University Health Services (UHS) recently transformed a UHS COVID-19 (coronavirus) testing sight into a safer and more comfortable environment for UHS staff and individuals being tested.

Their innovative approach featured a short video that has garnered more than 9,000 views since it’s launch, demonstrating that a little bit of video can go a long way in communicating complex topics.

Recently, Landscape Services donated plants to Dell Medical School (DMS) and Dell Seton Medical Center staff to honor their critical work during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. The idea sprang from an excess of plants in the greenhouses, and Landscape Services’ DMS supervisor Justin Hayes saw an opportunity to find new homes for the plants while giving back to the community his team supports.

Recent changes include allowing students to register for summer and fall 2020 semesters despite financial bars, reducing the interest of student loans initiated in spring 2020 to 0% and facilitating the process of CARES Act and Student Emergency Services payments going directly to students.

Carpentry Shop Cabinetmaker Robert Colvard, Campus Environmental Center Coordinator Brianna Duran, Urban Forestry Supervisor Jennifer Hrobar, Event and Moving Services Supervisor Roy Mack, and University of Texas at Austin Police Department Officer William Pieper received this prestigious award. The annual awards celebrate all of the ways staff make the university an amazing place to live, work and learn.
