Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Darrell Bazzell announced on Tuesday, July 15, that Lori Peterson has been appointed executive director for Accounting and Financial Management (AFM) effective immediately. For the last year, Lori has led the AFM team as the interim assistant vice president.

Last night I received extremely sad news confirming the COVID-19-related death of one of our Facilities Services staff colleagues. The loss of this custodial services team member is devastating to me and to our campus community; I am heartbroken about this loss, and the university offers its full support to the individual’s family, co-workers, and loved ones.

As part of the university’s Fall 2020 Planning efforts, UT Austin has created several working groups with the goal to reopen the Forty Acres in the fall 2020 semester, likely with some courses and activities held in person and others online. The mix of in-person and online course will be dictated by health and safety concerns.
