Reactivate your parking permit by June 18

Updated on 6/11/20 - This article has been updated to reflect the change in parking enforcement date from June 19, 2020, to June 22, 2020, and to clarify that reactivating your permit for academic year 2019-20 does not commit you to a permit for academic year 2020-21.

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) deactivated parking permits and paused parking enforcement in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus). With more employees, students, and visitors gradually returning to campus, PTS has announced it will require either a permit or payment of a fee for all parking on campus beginning June 22, 2020, and will resume parking enforcement on that date.

If you have a permit and would like to use it to park on campus for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year, you must reactivate it at by June 18, 2020. Wait to receive an email confirmation that your permit is reactivated before parking on campus. If you reactivate your permit, you will be prompted to renew your permit for the next academic year in July. Reactivating your permit for the 2019-20 academic year does not commit you to a permit for the 2020-21 academic year.

If you do not reactivate your permit by the June 18 deadline, it will remain deactivated, and you will lose it. If you do not reactivate your permit by June 18, you cannot renew that permit for the next academic year and may be added to a waitlist if one exists, or you can choose a different parking permit option with no waitlist. (Waitlist information is available at

If you do not have a permit and will need one, you can purchase your permit through My Parking Profile. Or, if you need to park on campus occasionally and will not need a permit, garages will be available with garage daily parking rates based on the amount of time parked. You can also use the Parking Perks Debit Program for low-cost occasional garage parking. Also, starting June 15, the following garages will be staffed Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., for in-person transactions: Brazos Garage (BRG), Health Center Garage (HCG), and San Antonio Garage (SAG).

PTS will send out permit renewals for the 2020-21 academic year in July. Consult your supervisor if you have questions about your parking needs for the remainder of the 2019-20 academic year and the upcoming 2020-21 academic year. PTS will keep the campus informed of any changes to parking enforcement and garage office hours by email and the PTS Coronavirus Information and Operational Status page.
