FAS represented by Operations Working Group in fall 2020 planning

As part of the university’s Fall 2020 Planning efforts, UT Austin has created several working groups with the goal to reopen the Forty Acres in the fall 2020 semester, likely with some courses and activities held in person and others online. The mix of in-person and online course will be dictated by health and safety concerns. These working groups are Operations, Health and Wellness, Academics, Student Life and Engagement, Research, and Athletics.

Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Darrell Bazzell is leading the Operations working group, which is charged with collaborating with partners across campus to develop a plan and timeline for facilitating the reopening of campus and its facilities incrementally . Within that working group, the associated task forces and leads are:

  • Readiness: Campus and Workspace Navigation; Facilities Readiness (both led by Associate Vice President for Facilities Planning and Management David Darling).
  • Strategic Sourcing (Assistant Vice President for Procurement and Payment Services Roy Anasagasti).
  • Human Resources (Associate Vice President for Human Resources Adrienne Howarth-Moore).
  • Financial Planning: Auxiliaries (Strategic Projects and Initiatives Coordinator Andrew Clark); Tuition (Budget Director John McGeady).

Many FAS colleagues are members of the various working groups and associated task forces. More information and updates about the efforts and progress are on the Operations Working Group web page on the Fall 2020 Planning website. Planning leaders encourage you to submit your ideas for fall planning here. The university expects to announce outcomes and plans by the end of June.
